Unless we have called to tell you that the repair or restoration work is done, please contact us before coming to pick it up. We do our best to have your instrument or bow ready within the time estimate, but with so many variables in this work, that is not always possible.
When we see your instrument or bow, we will give you our best-faith estimate on time and cost for repair or restoration. If on closer examination, we find that the needed repairs will differ from our estimate, we will contact you immediately . Our goal is to achieve the best value for you. You will have our honest opinion on the best repair method, considering the instrument or bow's current value and condition, the effect of the repair on market value, and the intrinsic value of the item to you. If we think the best value for you is not to repair it, we’ll tell you so that your decision can be informed.
You can count on a professional job. Either Jay or Duncan will do the work; we do not employ interns or contract workers. We guarantee our work: within the 12 months after we do a repair or restoration, we will make any needed adjustments to that work at no cost to you (excluding, of course, work needed due to normal wear and tear or additional damage or failure from improper handling or treatment of the instrument or bow after it left our shop).
Jay does all his own bow rehairing; we do not employ interns or contract workers. Click here to learn more and see our bow rehairing prices.
This is only a guide to typical prices for some standard maintenance tasks. We will tell you if your price must vary due to unique conditions of your instrument or bow.
Please note that sales tax will be added to all repair prices.
